On September 18 Ahmad Shahidov Head of Azerbaijani Institute for Democracy and Human Rights (AIDHR) gave an interview to Qatar State News Agency. Answering questions of interviewers, human rights advocate touched upon ties between Azerbaijan and Qatar, Azerbaijan’s relations with other Muslim countries and as a religion the place of Islam in our modern world.
Aftermath, Ahmad Shahidov talked about Nagorno Karabakh conflict that left behind one million internally displaced persons and hundreds of hostages of Azerbaijan.
Elaborating about Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev who were taken hostage by the Armenian side in the occupied Kelbajar region, head of AIDHR presented photos of the hostages and so called trial conducted by Armenia.
Ahmad Shahidov also emphasized importance of Qatar’s support to Azerbaijan on this issue by adding that he would put all his efforts for the release of the hostages.
